Materials

The microtencil interlock structure embraces the body's every shape in a functional, skin-caring embrace. Its contourfitting behavior, along with its properties, makes this refreshing fabric specifically ideal for sensitive skin and for those leading an active lifestyle.

  • Anti-bacterial: Eliminates bad bacteria in our skin, preventing infections and bad odour.
  • Cooling effect: Refreshing fabric (0.0006K*m2/ W).
  • Quick Dry: Keeps skin dry by rapid evaporation of sweat.
  • Anti-Irritation: Fiber is proven to be compatible with human skin cells (keratinocytes)
  • Superior Breathability: Allows for a superior skin comfort.

Compared to regular cotton, this fabric saves:

  • 7kg of CO2 per meter
  • 30 liters of water per meter
  • 1,4g of PO4* per meter

We use responsible fibers in our formulas: natural, biodegradable or upcycled fibers which consume less water, energy or CO2 during their production process.

The renewable, wood fiber in our fabrics is EKO-TEX certified, originates and is produced in both Austria & Czech Republic, then knitted in Portugal.

The fiber is developed with various tree species from sustainably managed European forests, including eucalyptus, spruce, pine, birch and beech. All of the trees used to produce our fibers are grown in natural forests and sustainably managed plantations, without any kind of chemical fertilizers or artificial irrigation.

Close to 100% of the wood and pulp is FSC® or PEFC™ certified. The resulting fibers are fully biodegradable under the soil and marine conditions, as well as compostable, and the water scarcity impact is 1.7 times lower than that of generic viscose fibers.

PYRATEX®

Sustainability Certifications

Our fabrics are GOTSGRS and OCS certified. We also work with a number of certifications in our factories, processes and fibers, including  ISO 14001,  ISO 9001,  REACHOEKO-TEXBlueSignUSDA,  ISEGAFSC,  EU EcolabelTUV,  FKT and PEFC certifications.

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognised requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.

GRS (Global Recycled Standard) is a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product. The standard applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labeling. With GRS certification, you can communicate to customers your commitment to truth in materials and support for a circular economy that reduces waste by using it to make new products.

OCS (Organic Cotton Standard) is a voluntary global standard that sets the criteria for third-party certification of organic materials and chain of custody.

OEKO-TEX® STeP is an independent certification system for brands, retailers and manufacturers from the textile and leather industry. Certification is suitable for production facilities at all processing stages who want to communicate their environmental measures externally in a credible and transparent way.

Textiles that have been certified by FKT have proven their body compatibility and do not release any substances that irritate the skin or damage a person’s health.

ISEGA has pursued successful business activity as an independent testing and certification institute with the capability for analytical work in the fields of chemical and physical analytical work, microbiology, ecology, examination and certification of products.

The USDA Certified Biobased Product label displays a product’s biobased content, which is the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine, or forestry feedstocks. Utilizing renewable, biobased materials displaces the need for non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals. This label helps consumers identify biobased products and increase the demand for renewable commodities.

Through certification, TUV Austria wants to offer a tool for fair play in the market of bioplastics and, by extension, all compostable, biodegradable and biobased products. As a 100% independent party, we apply the same rules for everyone.

From fiber to finished product, BlueSign partners with brands, manufacturers, and chemical suppliers because the world needs safer workplaces and textile products that are less impactful on the environment and people.

Consumers can trust that BlueSign labeled textiles and products from the chemical inputs to the final production have met the strictest standards throughout the supply chain.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. Find out here what STANDARD 100 means and why it is worth checking for this label when buying textiles.

PEFC maintains comprehensive databases to ensure easy access to relevant information about certificate holders, logo & label users, certified products, accredited certification bodies, and PEFC-endorsed national certification schemes.

REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.

ISO 9001: 2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:

  1. a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
  2. b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Launched in 1992, the EU Ecolabel logo has become a byword for quality while meeting the highest environmental standards. It means products (goods and services) displaying the iconic "EU flower" symbol meet all the criteria

As the leader in sustainable forestry, FSC® is trusted by NGOs, businesses, and consumers worldwide to protect healthy, resilient forests for all, forever.

ISO 14001 provides requirements with guidance for use that relate to environmental systems. Other standards in the family focus on specific approaches such as audits, communications, labelling and life cycle analysis, as well as environmental challenges such as climate change.

Production and Traceability

We focus on developing premium, durable fabrics, which, due to their quality, will last in one’s wardrobe for years. During the dyeing and finishing process, we restrict the use of harmful chemicals to protect the employee and the textile, as well as to preserve the natural properties of the fiber in the PYRATEX® fabrics.

We produce our fabrics locally in Europe, in order to ensure the strongest control of our productions, and proximity to our clients’ garment factories: meaning a lower CO2 impact. We’ve partnered with external institutions in order to provide our environmental impact through our PYRATEX® impact passports.
